THE BOTANICAL OF LANDSCAPE ARTHITECTURE DEPARTMENT
The idea of this project emerged after a research trip to the Nowshahr Botanical Garden. The aim was to create a dedicated research and learning environment for landscape architecture students, integrating teaching, experimentation, and the design of green spaces. A total of 125 species of shrubs, trees, and plants with varying ecological characteristics were selected and planted based on site conditions such as shade patterns, wind direction, and other environmental factors. A combined drip and subsurface irrigation system with two control valves was also designed and implemented to support sustainable maintenance. The garden is maintained annually by incoming student cohorts, ensuring continuity through successive generations. In addition, students designed and proposed urban furniture elements appropriate for the space, which were presented to academic supervisors for review and implementation.
